Equipment
The sculpture “Bending Hives” by Matthew Willey at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo was intended to invite your curiosity and imagination, along with raising awareness of the importance of bees and other pollinators.
Though we don’t usually build sculptures like Matthews, we do have a full woodworking workshop where we build and assemble a range of custom and standard woodware equipment for beekeeping. E&B’s development work has the inclusion of propolis envelopes, where rough sawn timber is utilized as a textured surface for the bees to naturally line with a natural protective propolis coating. We are also very creative with customized observation hives and are cost sensitive with commercial production equipment.
